A Brilliant and Accessible Guide to the Yogic Path of the Spirit
If you have done yoga for long enough, you soon come across discussions of chakra theory. Learn more about the chakras and how to release them in Paul Grilley’s chakra yoga DVD. This lesson teaches you about how yoga works beyond physical asanas to enhance your spiritual and mental health.
Paul Grilley made waves with his influential DVD Anatomy for Yoga, which changed the way teachers approached their students’ traditional yoga poses. This chakra yoga DVD is as accessible as Grilley’s anatomy DVD and just as powerful of a tool to make huge transformations in the world of yoga.
Chakra yoga teaches that the seven chakras have four dimensions: their physical location, as well as the organs, emotions, and mental characteristics that they relate to. In this chakra yoga DVD, Paul Grilley describes how to understand and purify the chakras to achieve greater health and well-being.
This chakra yoga DVD outlines the importance of chakra meditation, how the chakras relate to the creation of a separate self, and how to evolve the self to awaken the chakras through meditation. Twelve special guided audio meditations ensure you have the tools to put these chakra yoga teachings to use.

Chakra Theory and MeditationChanged my life -- no joke Review by Mikey
I was home with the flu and chilling in bed going over the entire Paul Grilley disc on Chakra Theory. I had lightly dealt with Chinese Chi theory in martial arts but had not delved to deeply into the Indian Chakra lingo until this disc.
Throughout the meditations and lecture I was acutely aware of body energy channels and the intensity increased as the practice went along....to the point of bewilderment sometimes. I could feel energy moving all aroundthe described chakras and spent a good deal of time in the stomach area due to my stomach flu.
I believe this chakra work sped me through my flu, and that's the truth. The profound creation of inner energy through Pauls teachings is still being put to good use in my daily energy practice.
This disc is a great addition to an individuals ongoing work towards inner healing. I'll use the techniques at home and at work to bring awareness to stress and general body harmonization. I especially like comparisons to other body systems like the comparison the Chinese energy work.

"This DVD is Paul's best yet. With 5-1/2 hours of lecture presentations and 12 different guided meditation practices, it represents fantastic value. The lectures cover an overview of Tantric theory and the goals of spiritual practice, with detailed discussion of the functions of each chakra. The lectures are densely packed ... but the clarity of the subject matter is amazing, and he appears effortlessly and in simple language to be able to link together so much of the underpinning philosophy of yoga, and to paint a holistic view of the oneness of yoga science.
“This guy... should be compulsory viewing for trainee teachers, and for those of us who have been teaching for a few years as well. As I watched the lectures, I found new insights and understandings of theory that had always been a bit hazy in my mind before. Paul is a talented teacher and communicator!"

"At some point, we may feel stuck in the wheel of samsara, the cycle of suffering, reliving our samskara, defined by Paul Grilley as 'habits of action, of want and longing that manifest in certain ways.'
There is a way out. In the lectures and practices on his new DVD Chakra Theory and Meditation, Grilley convinced me that one method of escaping the aforementioned fate involves awakening the chakras through meditation. The practices Grilley teaches illuminate what needs to be examined in our lives in order to transcend the physical body and create a conscious, unending and blissful experience.
This is a heady subject, indeed. Chakra Theory contains four hours of theoretical lectures describing the seven primary chakra centers, which are the spiritual wheels of energy located in the subtle body in the areas of the brain and spine. These control the flow of chi or prana, our lifeforce. Grilley explains what each chakra governs and how to access them energetically. Fortunately, his lucid and accessible explanations are captivating throughout.
Viewers eager to incorporate theory into practice will enjoy the series of nine-minute guided meditations, manageable alone or as a grounding entry into a longer meditation session. More intricate practices involve integrating the bandha (energetic locks). Special features offer recommendations for further study.
Chakra Theory is an info-packed weekend workshop in a box viewers can visit again and again. The set also includes meditations in MP3 format, perfect for downloading to experience chakra awakening anywhere"

About A Paul Grilley DVD Can Change Your Approach to Yoga
Paul Grilley’s insightful yoga DVDs and online courses break yoga down to its fundamentals and stress the importance of looking at each unique body. Since no two human bodies are exactly alike, Paul offers that yoga cannot be taught in a uniform way; instead, it needs to be tailored to the individual and our unique bone structure. A Paul Grilley DVD will not only inform you about yoga, it might also change the way you practice or teach it.
Paul Grilley’s Background
Paul Grilley began practicing yoga in 1979 after reading The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananada. He moved to Los Angeles in 1982 where he studied and taught yoga for 12 years. In 1988 he read Theories of the Chakras by Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama. Paul and his wife Suzee have been active students of Dr. Motoyama ever since.
Paul started his studies of anatomy with Dr. Garry Parker in 1979. He continued his studies at UCLA where he took courses in anatomy and kinesiology. He earned a M.A. from St. John's College, Santa Fe in summer 2000 and an Honorary Ph.D. in 2005 from the California Institute for Human Science for his efforts to clarify the latest theories on fascia and its relevance to the practice of hatha yoga. He enjoys reading science and esoteric literature, trying to find connections between the two.
Paul and his wife Suzee now spend their time administrating and teaching the Yin Yoga Teacher's Training program both in the USA and abroad.
Learn from the Classic Lesson Anatomy for Yoga
The Paul Grilley DVDAnatomy for Yoga is an especially useful tool for teachers looking to gain a deeper understanding of how specific postures change depending on a specific student’s body composition. For example, a student whose arms are naturally a bit shorter may have a harder time reaching their hands to the floor in Dhandasana (staff pose). At the same time, a student with naturally longer arms may have to bend their arms to comfortably sit in this very same pose.
Yoga for Students of All Shapes and Sizes
Paul’s approach to yoga is of paramount importance when teaching yoga to students of all shapes and sizes, as well as with varying levels of physical fitness.
