Dear Friends,
For those of you that were present at Claire's send-off last night, it was wonderful seeing all of you. If you weren't physically there, I (and I'm sure Claire) felt your thoughts. The room was certainly filled with a lot of love. She has been so so touched by everyone's love and support. (A special thank you to Jennifer for hosting us!)
Last night, the baton was handed off to Mark as he accompanies our favorite yogini to India. We were able to "sync" information and have plans in place for whatever may come in the following months.
The last few days were incredibly fruitful. Claire was in very good spirits and living exactly as she needs to live. At the dinner table the other day, she sang ñ with limited volume - a beautiful, Claire-esque rendition of a Joni Mitchell song that had all of us giggling. It has been very nice to laugh with her.
As Corey referenced, Claireís eyes and lungs continue to cause discomfort. She is still taking aspirin and as long as she stays on a constant dose, the pain is somewhat manageable. She is still weak and was a trooper as we completed each of her tasks before she left for India.
Many of you have asked, ìFor how long will Claire be in India?î Claire has left for India with an open mind, knowing that she has options. If India proves to be good for her, she will stay and if it is not in her best interest, she will return. We have assured her that if she would like to return to the States, we are ready, willing, and prepared to care for her in any way that she needs. Iím sure that as she settles into her life in India, answers will be revealed and Mark will keep us updated.
Being with Claire and surrounded by folks, both that know her intimately and only know her through stories, has been truly amazing. I am uplifted by the communityís display of affection for her and have renewed faith in so much. When I am in need of care one day, I hope to be surrounded by a small percentage of what I've witnessed in the last few weeks. You are all stars.
Warmly,
Lauren
P.S. Miracles do happen.
