Dear Friends,
The movement of life never ceases to amaze me. I hope this email finds you all with warm thoughts of Claire, of her life, of her humor, of her brilliance, of her faith.
As you have read, Claire continues to rest quite peacefully, surrounded with love and prayers. The last couple months have been long; filled with shock, laughter, dismay, and of course, silence. The community that has rallied behind Claire is quite remarkable. I remember when there were only twenty folks on the listserv and now it has grown to almost over ninety people! I am in awe of the outpour of affection and love, however not surprised as Claire's life shines all over the world.
Mark and I have been in discussion about how to disseminate information about Claire when she passes away. To alleviate Mark of at least one of his duties, I will be assuming the contact person post. For those of you that don't know me personally or know that I don't have your contact info, I am writing to extend the offer of a personal phone call with news of Claire. Many have expressed to me that they would not like to read it via email, but instead would like a phone call. If you are one of these people, please respond to me at therunningwoman@yahoo.com. Please include your name, your timezone, and the best phone number(s) at which to reach you. Otherwise, as always, Mark will keep everyone apprised of Claire via the listserv.
It is strange to be writing this email with such a request, but Mark and I are sensitive to the impact of this information and also acknowledge that we simply don't know every one of Claire's close friends; she has so many! We would like to accommodate all of you and your wishes as you all deserve nothing less. I hope you accept this email as a token of respect I have for each and every single one of you; you have all extended your thoughts and hearts so graciously.
