Pranamaya’s Building Prana with Hatha Yoga: Level 1 video introduces practitioners to some of the basic concepts of Hatha Yoga and building Prana. This second Hatha Yoga training video deepens the practice and helps students build deeper Prana.
Integrate Form and Mind
Of course, Prana refers to the life force and energy that is cultivated during Hatha and other yoga practices. Master teacher Mark Horner guides students to work on the “inner alchemy” of their practice. Inner alchemy refers to the synergy of form, energy, and mind that occurs when the body, breath, and attention become unified.
This video, available for immediate download, includes a 25 minute lecture on theory and a 75 minute guided practice geared towards students with a grounding in the basics of Prana and Hatha yoga. Newer students should begin with the Level 1 video before moving on to this one.
Build Energetic Prana
This Hatha Yoga training video focuses on the use of bandha. Bandha refers to a contraction or body lock that draws energy inward. This very efficient form of practice allows students to build Prana while expending less physical movement.
Hatha Yoga is a highly focused form of practice with many benefits. Mark Horner expertly guides viewers through the intricacies of Hatha poses to help build vital Prana.
Great hatha yoga video, excellent teaching Review by psychoyogi
This is the second of Mark Horner's videos I purchased from the Pranamaya website. I really like his Shadow Yoga-inspired approach and style and have been coming back quite a few times to practice this and the level 1 video. Explanation is clear and precise, and pacing is very good - neither too slow nor too fast. I also found the talks given at the beginning of each of the videos very helpful.
I would not consider these videos suitable for total beginners but they're ideal for anyone with a basic understanding and some experience. I have been practicing intensely for several year now and still have considerably benefitted from these classes. I hope there will be more online videos to make more of Mark's teaching available! Highly recommended!!!
